Malcolm J. McLelland

Malcolm McLelland has over 20 years experience in accounting, auditing, consulting, teaching, and research. His primary area of expertise is in financial modeling and econometric analysis. He has been engaged in such matters by firms in the manufacturing, wholesale and distribution, technology and e-commerce, healthcare/pharmaceutical, real estate, and financial services industries, as well as by financial institution regulatory agencies. His financial models and econometric analyses have been used in a wide variety of contexts including:
● Development of private debt and equity placement memoranda
● Merger and acquisition analysis and structuring
● Asset valuation and price negotiation in debt and equity placements
● Investment portfolio design and management
● Strategic planning, product pricing, and supply chain strategy
● Management control systems and performance measurement
● Commercial damages litigation consulting
He has taught at Michigan State University, University of Illinois at Chicago, Purdue University, Indiana University, and most recently at Steinbeis University’s Stuttgart Institute of Management including a wide range of courses including financial accounting and analysis, managerial accounting and decision-making, auditing and corporate governance, asset pricing theory and business valuation.
Malcolm graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Business (Accounting concentration), and from Michigan State University with a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Accounting and Econometrics concentrations). He was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Indiana (USA).

Our Tax Partner in charge, CPA Mr. Jorge L. Santiago, has twenty (20) years of experience providing accounting services, taxes and consulting. Department is in charge of consulting and operational management of our office, assigning tasks to our staff, depending on level of experience. As part of his duties, has been in charge of addressing the largest account of the office for the past fifteen (15) years in taxes, consulting and implementation of internal controls that company.

Our Managing Partner in charge, Carlos De Angel,CPA, is a certified public accountant with fourteen (14) years of experience including seven (7) years working in the company’s international CPA’s Ernst & Young where he served as Department Manager Audit.

His experience serving international accounts has provided him extensive experience in the field of auditing. This experience includes audits, reviews and compilations for government entities, private companies and nonprofit organizations. The integration of the CPA Carlos de De Angel provides continuity to the excellent services we have offered for the past thirty-five (35) years.

He has 32 years of experience in the professional field. During 12 years he worked for the Audit and External Consulting firm Alonso y Asociados representantives of Ernst and Young International. He was occupied as Internal Audit Manager in local private companies and also as Director – Manager and Administrative and Finalcial Manager in important companies of the real estate and investments sector of the conuntry. He was advisor of the Presidencia del Instituto Peruano de Seguridad Social del Perú (IPSS) and Manager of its Logistics Division. He has worked as a Legal Advisor in the IRS – Internal Revenue Services between 1987 and 1994, in various areas, such as the Regional Legal Department, Tax Court and Inheritance Department in the Managing Office of the Metropolitan Region Department, of Santiago Center; And in the Defense Department of the National Department of this same controlling organicism.He held a Senior Management position in the Legal Tax Division at Ernst & Young, since 1995 – 2002.

Professor of Special Taxes, in the Business and Administration Faculty, of the Central University of Chile ; between 1993 – 1995. Tutor of Management Law in the Faculty of Industrial Engineering at the University of Chile , between the years 1996-2001. Professor of International Taxing, in the Masters program of Taxes; at the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences at the University of Chile . He was also Tutoring Professor of the National and International Tax Planning Program. Tutoring Professor of the International Tax Program in the Masters of Law, in the Enterprises at the Faculty of Law, at the Catholic University of Chile . Julio Young

Julio Young joined Fernandez Young & Associates in 1993 and is the firm’s Tax Partner. He is also a director of FY International and a member of its International Tax Advisory Group. Prior to joining FYA, he was a Corporate Controller with a prominent real estate development company located in Vancouver, British Columbia. As a partner in Fernandez, Young & Associates, Julio is involved in tax planning in all areas of personal, corporate and estate taxation, in particular, advising on real estate tax issues and establishment of resident and non-resident trusts and offshore corporations for professionals and owner managers with cross border transactions. As a member of the Tax Group of FY International, Julio coordinates and participates in the delivery of services to Latin America and other non-resident clients seeking international tax advice. His fluency in Spanish and Cantonese gives him an advantage in advising non-resident clients on the most effective structures for carrying business in Canada. Julio obtained his CGA designation in 1987, and continues to maintain the highest professional development standards, in particular he is a graduate of the two-year CICA In-Depth Tax Course.
